Screen Rant has posted some thoughts from Zack Snyder about the success of "Watchmen" and a possible theatrical director's cut release.

Recently, while accepting his 2009 Director of the Year Award at ShoWest, Snyder had the box office disappointment brought up, and gave his thoughts on how this would affect the possible theatrical release of the Director’s Cut of the film:

With the Watchmen movie only days away from release the reviews of the original graphic novel are still coming out. Most of these are from people who have never even heard of the book before the movie was announced, but that doesn't make them any less important. I am always looking for quality, though out reviews to give me a fresh perspective on things. That is when I came across A Civil Conversation about Watchmen between Twig Collins and Dustin Rowles. It was very well done. Check it out.
