Silk SpectreChroma What?

Unlike the epic 300 Director Zach Snyder helmed before, Watchmen will be anything but a blue screen, chroma key movie. The set for Watchmen is meticulously detailed down to engravings on the brick walls and various “Easter Eggs” hidden about. That’s not to say the blue screen will be completely relegated as a makeshift tarp, because Snyder loves his digital effects, and Watchmen is sure to deliver.

Passing Hands

Watchmen has been floating around Hollywood for half a century and had many directors attached to it before being handed to Snyder. Gilliam, the visionary director behind Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was attached to direct but pulled out after budget disputes with the studios. Darron Arronofsky The Wrestler was then tapped but he pulled out because he wanted to focus more on his independent films. Luckily for Warner Brothers, Snyder signed on at the last second.

Arnold Schwarzenegger as Dr. Manhattan

You’d think Mr. Freeze was the last time we’d ever see the governator in blue, but he was asked to play the super-superhero Dr. Manhattan. Luckily for us, Cruddup accepted the role.

Easter Eggs

Zach Snyder himself said that he expected audiences to watch Watchmen at least two or three times to really understand the movie. Like any good Director, Snyder has littered his frames with Easter eggs from a comic book within the comic book, to nods towards his last film 300. In the trailer you can see a handful of easter eggs: the scene when Rorschach is hacking into Ozymandias’ computer, check out the desktop and you’ll se a folder titled “Adrian’s sorta like a very asexual, but he’s possibly a homosexual.” Whatever that means, but hardcore fans should be drooling.

Penis size

Doc ManhattanWow men can never hear enough about this one and it seems we’re going to have a huge uncircumcised blue penis swaying on an IMAX screen very soon. According to critics who have already screened the movie, the wang is very large and very hardcore “real.” A far-cry from the modest circumcised penis Dr. Manhattan is endowed with in the graphic novel. So here’s a suggestion, if you’re not packing massive heat, leave the girlfriend at home.
